Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Forensic Notes platform (the "Service"), operated by OW Ventures LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Service

Forensic Notes is a secure evidence management platform for forensic teams and law enforcement. The Service includes web and iOS applications for case documentation, evidence tracking, chain of custody management, and forensic workflow automation.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be invited by an organization administrator or have an authorized account to access the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Organization administrators are responsible for managing user access and permissions within their organization.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any purpose other than legitimate forensic and law enforcement activities
  • Share your login credentials or allow unauthorized access to the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent access controls, audit logging, or security measures
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the integrity of evidence data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

5. Data Ownership

Your organization retains full ownership of all evidence data, case files, notes, photographs, videos, and other content uploaded to or created within the Service. We do not claim any ownership rights over your data.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. The iOS application supports offline operation for evidence capture and documentation.

7. Security and Compliance

We implement security measures designed to protect data in accordance with CJIS Security Policy, ISO 17025, and FBI Quality Assurance Standards. However, specific compliance certifications depend on your deployment configuration and organizational policies.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OW Ventures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by your organization for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, you may request export of your organization's data in accordance with our data export procedures. We will retain data according to your organization's configured retention policy or as required by law.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
